What is Neighborhood Planning?

Neighborhood planning is an important tool promoting collaboration between the City and Neighborhood Associations to guide the future of Boise's neighborhoods.

GAP Planning

Boise serves its neighborhoods with a Geographic Area Planning (GAP) program.

  • Planners from each work group (Current Planning, Design Review, Subdivisions etc.) are assigned specific geographic areas of the City.

  • Planners become familiar with the neighborhood associations and the unique issues facing the area. Planners assist the neighborhoods in understanding development appolications, interpreting Blueprint Boise (the City's Comprehensive Plan), and in developing neighborhood plans. GAP planners also participate in Neighborhood Night Out and other neighborhood events.
