Boise's Building Excellence Awards
2016 Building Excellence Awards
The City of Boise is proud to partner with BOMA Idaho to present the 2016 Building Excellence Awards. The awards honor building owners and managers whose projects represent the best of Boise’s built environment.
This year the City will recognize projects for excellence in architecture, sustainability, safety and accessibility. Mayor Dave Bieter will present the awards on May 19th at a luncheon hosted by BOMA Idaho.
What are the Building Excellence Awards?
Honoring Building Safety's Unseen Heroes
Looking for a way to honor the building owners and managers whose renovations and upgrades make the City's buildings safer, Planning & Development Services started the Building Excellence Award program in 2008. Additional award categories were created for sustainability and accessibility, with architectural & landscape design added in 2015.The City partners with the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), who hosts the awards at their monthly meeting each May.
"Business owners who make significant investments in their buildings to improve their safety, accessibility and sustainability deserve recognition, especially in today's economic times. These folks are the unseen heroes of building safety, investing thousands of dollars on projects that no one sees but which make all of us safer and improve the quality of our lives. These kinds of projects help make Boise the most livable city in the country."
